Protonitazene, also called Propoxynitazene, is a new opioid drug, an analgesic in the benzimidazole class. Protonitazene is an isomer of isotonitazene and has similar effects on the body found in chemical studies in rodents. Protonitazene (Propoxynitazene), like many opioids in the benzimidazole class, can cause respiratory depression and vomiting when used in excess.
